HYDERABAD: Innovative ideas, generated by young minds to address the challenge of fast-depleting resources, formed the basis of the two-day Science Congress organized by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (Hyd Region). At the regional children’s science congress, which opened here on Monday, students from Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) across the state came up with projects to utilize, protect, preserve and enrich land resources under the broad topic of land resources.The projects on display ranged from improving the quality of agricultural land to the use of clay in cosmetics and nature cure and use of clean sources of energy such as windmills and rainwater harvesting to use of fly-ash generated from thermal power stations as fertilizers and for building materials.Close to 50 schools participated in the science congress which saw students from Khammam, Warangal and districts in and around Hyderabad presenting their projects at KV Uppal Number 1 and 2. Projects adjudged the best in junior and senior categories will represent the state at the national-level.
