According to the study, 79% of the people surveyed in the city admitted that they had 2 types of whole grain or less, while 18% estimated that they ate between 3-5 types of grains.As the entire study was conducted by interviewing respondents through online surveys, there is a good chance that the slim margin of people who had 3 different food grains a day could just be having multi-grain bread.Another interesting fact that came up in the study was that 31% of the people surveyed in Chennai consumed no fruit on a daily basis.When compared to cities like Ahmedabad (48%) and Kolkata (39%) it is to the city’s credit that close to two-thirds of people have some amount of food every day.     “Some of these facts are simply because of regional habits and culture.
