THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: RSP general secretary TJ Chandrachoodan has come down heavily on both the CPM and the UDF for its wrong political stands on various issues.Addressing a press conference here, he said that the CPM required not four years but forty years to understand a policy issue. He said that the RSP national meet held in Kollam some forty years back had called for formulating a Left democratic alternative. However, the CPM had to wait till its 20th party congress which concluded recently to think along this line.He said that the political resolution passed in the 20th party congress of the CPM reflected such a late realisation in understanding the issues.He pointed out that the RSP was formed on the basis of evolving India’s own revolutionary path.Now the CPM after such a long time, says that the party will take efforts to establish a Socialist Republic taking Indian conditions into consideration, instead of looking for Chinese or Cuban model.He said the RSP could not agree with the CPM line that formulating Left Democratic alternative at the national level and entering into electoral adjustments at the regional level. Strongly criticising the UDF, he said UDF Government had lost the moral authority to continue in office as it has communalised every sphere of administration."Oommen Chandy has no moral right to continue as chief minister. He should resign as chief minister if he has any respect for moral principles,” he said.Chandrachoodan said that the Muslim League was a communal party controlled by rich business groups. The League has made use of their communal bullying force and money power to claim the fifth slot in the cabinet.He said it was to appease the NSS leadership that Home portfolio was given to Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan. "Oommen Chandy is a sitting duck. All communal forces are targeting him to take away the powers entrusted with him as chief minister,’’ he said.
