Top-seeded Bob and Mike Bryan survived a scare in the quarter-finals of the US Open, beating seventh-seeded David Marrero and Fernando Verdasco of Spain 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 on Tuesday.
At 4-4 in the final set, the twins saved three break points, and then ran off the court pumping their fists. With all the pressure on Marrero's serve in the next game, he double-faulted to put the Bryans two points from victory.
The 15-time major champs next face fellow Americans Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram. The Bryan brothers hadn't dropped a set before Tuesday.
They're seeking their 100th career doubles title and their first Grand Slam championship since Wimbledon in 2013.
