BIJAPUR: Water level in Bhima river on Karnataka-Maharashtra border has been rising since Monday evening. According to Indi Division Assistant Commissioner Gopalkrishna water level in Bhima is about 11.5 m. The inflow in to the river has reached 1.7 lakh cusecs while the outflow is about 1.5 lakh cusecs. Danger mark for the water level is said to be about 12-13 m, during which people and cattle needed to be shifted away from the river banks. Four villages have been affected badly. Two roads between Channegaum-Dhulakhed and Gubbewad-Shiragaum were closed to traffic. All revenue officials in the villages along the river banks have been informed to remain in their respective homes, he said. Taluk official of Indi and Sindagi taluks have been asked to monitor the situation round the clock and report substantial change. The AC is conducting rounds in the villages.
