Bangalore: A Bangalore school chairperson, Rustom Kerawalla, has been given a conditional bail on a surety of Rs 25,000 in the rape case of a six-year-old student inside the school by a staff member.
He has been granted bail under following conditions. He should appear before the investigation officer every alternate day. He cannot go out of Bangalore and has to cooperate with police investigation whenever it is required. Most importantly, he should not tamper with any sought of evidence.
Kerawalla was arrested from Daman and Diu on grounds of obstruction of justice and destruction of evidence on Wednesday, as well as delaying the reporting of the crime and failing to protect a child.
The six-year-old student was raped inside the premises on July 2 and there have been two arrests in the case till now. Skating instructor Mustafa has been arrested for raping the child while Kerawalla was arrested from the Union Territory of Daman and Diu.
