BANGALORE: ‘Powering Development with Renewable Energy Technologies,’ a report on the energy challenges faced by the world, especially developing countries was released on Friday. Speaking at the FKCCI, Gehl Sampath, team leader in the Division on Technology at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), said that agencies should assist in developing and allowing access to such green technologies for the benefit of developing nations as currently only the big nations have access to additional energy. She shared that over 20 per cent of the global population had little access to energy and acknowledged that India had done good work in trying to make energy available in rural areas. She added, me must ensure that future challenges are met.
