New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing of the bail petition of the five corporate executives accused in the 2G spectrum scam till Tuesday. The five corporate leaders who were sent to 14-day judicial custody in the 2G spectrum scam on Wednesday by the special CBI court of Additional Sessions Judge OP Saini.

The bail applications of Swan Telecom Director Vinod Goenka, Unitech Wireless (Tamil Nadu) Ltd Managing Director Sanjay Chandra, and three top officials of Reliance ADA Group - Gautam Doshi, Surendra Pipara and Hari Nair - was heard by a bench of justices Vikramajit Sen and Siddharth Mridul.

They argued that the High Court's earlier judgement set guidelines that an accused not arrested during investigation is entitled to bail after being chargesheeted.

The court ordered the jail superintendent to provide adequate medical care to Pipara since his medical condition is not good.

Goenka, Chandra, Doshi, Pipara and Nair spent Wednesday night in Delhi's Tihar jail. They have been charged with criminal conspiracy, forgery and cheating in the case.

The CBI had filed the chargesheet against them under the various sections of the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act relating to forgery, cheating, faking documents, giving and accepting illegal gratification for abuse of official position.

The CBI had charged that former telecom minister A Raja conspired with top bureaucrats, including a retired IAS officer, and corporate leaders to cause a loss of Rs 30,984 crore in the allocation of 2G spectrum.

The CBI is likely to file the supplementary chargesheet by April 25 and is likely to complete its probe by May 31 in the case.
