Actress-turned-politician Sri Latha Reddy, popularly known as Roja Selvamani, gained acclaim across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam cinema. However, she ventured into Bollywood and did just one film in her entire career.

Roja dazzled in a special song in the 1994 film The Gentleman, featuring Chiranjeevi. The movie was directed by Mahesh Bhatt, with production by Allu Aravind.

The movie was an adaptation of the Tamil blockbuster Gentlemen, directed by Shankar and featuring Arjun as the lead. Chiranjeevi took on the role played by Prabhudheva, who originally danced to the tune of the song Chikku Bukku Composed by AR Rahman. While Gautami showcased her talent in the South, Roja joined Chiranjeevi for the Hindi version of the song.

Roja’s appearance in The Gentleman marked her second special song, the first being alongside Akkineni Nagarjuna in the 1993 film Rakshana. Interestingly, this Bollywood film remains her sole venture in Hindi cinema.

Beginning her Telugu film journey with the 1991 movie Prema Tapassu, Roja gained recognition through Sarpayagam, portraying Sobhan Babu’s daughter. Her breakthrough came with the Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Bhairava Dweepam, propelling her to overnight stardom.

Roja Selvamani stands out as a leading actress in women-oriented films post-Vijayashanthi. Transitioning into politics, she contested on a YSRCP ticket in 2014, securing victory in the Nagari constituency in Andhra Pradesh. Her success continued in the 2019 elections, maintaining her position as MLA for the same area. Notably, she is the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Youth Advancement in the Andhra Pradesh cabinet.

Recently, Roja’s home tour became a sensation online, showcasing her expansive and intricately designed residence often likened to a small palace. The video highlights the well-designed hall, kitchen and specially crafted children’s bedroom. Noteworthy are the family photos adorning the house, adding a personalized touch to every corner of the residence.

Reflecting her spiritual inclination, Roja’s home entrance boasts a statue of Lord Narayana, while her living room showcases a portrait of Sai Baba. The space includes a large TV, cupboards, antique showpieces, photo frames, and a coordinated brown sofa with matching curtains, offering a glimpse into her tastefully decorated living area.
