Serie A club Napoli are back in the hunt to sign Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain with a bid of more than £30 million for the Argentine.
Arsenal too have been pursuing the 25-year-old who were very close in signing the forward in July for £23.1m before the Los Blancos held out a higher price. It is learned that Madrid will readily agree to a bid of over £30 million and Napoli will be using up their £55m from the Edinson Cavani to land the Argentine striker.
A day earlier, Daily Mail had reported that the Arsenal could return with an improved offer for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain after Napoli decided not to bid for the striker.
However, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has now claimed that the club do not want Higuain to leave this summer despite previous reports and has also increased their valuation to nearly 40 million ponds.
