Manchester: Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has urged the club to do everything they can to hang on to star striker Wayne Rooney. Neville has expressed his belief that such is Rooney's talent, the Premier League champions would be 'mad' if they allowed him to leave the club, according to reports in England.
Speculation regarding Rooney's future has intensified in recent weeks with reports suggesting the England star could be on the verge of handing in a transfer request as he looks to force through a move to Chelsea.
Jose Mourinho is known to be a long-term admirer of Rooney and has previously stated that the striker is his sole summer target. However United has always said that Rooney is not for sale but Rooney and his representatives are pretty confident that they can force a move away from the club.
Wayne Rooney has won five EPL titles in his nine years with United.
