Job seekers who are aiming for a career in teaching have a new opportunity in Uttarakhand. As per the latest updates, the state is going to start district-wise recruitment for thousands of vacancies.
The district-wise recruitment in the state is going to be done for the posts of primary teachers at government schools. There are around 3,600 vacancies available for the posts. The recruitment announcement was made by the Education Minister of the state, Dr Dhan Singh Rawat.
According to the state’s education minister, candidates who have qualified for the D.El.Ed and DL will be given an exemption. They are not required to apply for a second time. The reports state further that the recruitment process commenced after Uttarakhand’s education department notification was approved by the Election Commission. It was being done amidst the model code of conduct, implemented in the state.
The recruitment will be done according to the provisions mentioned in the Uttarakhand Government Elementary Education (Teachers) Amendment) Service Rules-2024. Under these provisions, only the candidates who have qualified for the D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) and DL (Distributed Learning) are eligible for primary teacher posts. Education Minister Rawat informed that the remaining assistant primary teacher posts, from 2020 and 2021, are going to be included in the recruitment.
The Directorate of Education of Uttarakhand has started the preparation for the recruitment process, reports say. The DEO (District Education Officer) Basic is ordered to check the number of all vacant posts available for recruitment. As per the new rules, candidates with a BEd degree are not eligible to apply for the recruitment.
The candidates with a qualification in DEd (Diploma in Education), D.El.Ed or a four-year BEd are eligible to apply for the posts of primary teacher.
