Gujarat Titans registered a 3-wicket win over Punjab Kings at Mullanpur in the Indian Premier League 2024 on Sunday. GT restricted PBKS to a total of 142 runs in 20 overs with Sai Kishore’s four-fer proving crucial in bundling the hosts out before the visitors went on to chase down the target thanks to Rahul Tewatia’s unbeaten 36 runs innings.
The loss condemned Punjab to their sixth defeat in eight games and left them languishing in the ninth position in the ten-team table, only ahead of bottom-placed RCB.

Punjab King’s stand-in skipper Sam Curran expressed that he was glad with the fight his side put in with the ball, however, their batting total did not reflect what they would have desired.
“I think we were some run short. The effort with the ball was incredible, the commitment and fight was amazing, but it was not enough,” the Englishman started.
GT spin trio of Sai Kishore, Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed were incredible with the ball in their hand as they troubled the Punjab batting order. Rashid finished with a wicket in his four overs and an incredible economy of 3.75, while Ahmed scalped two.
“The Afghanistan spinners are world-class bowlers and Sai Kishore bowled really well, credit to them,” Curran said.
He opined that a total north of 160 would have been a bit more defendable, but was impressed with the fight nevertheless.
“That is the third time we have used that pitch, anything above 160 would have been a par total but we still fought well,” the 25-year-old said.
Prabhsimran Singh gave the hosts a good start, but the batting order wasn’t able to settle following the fall of a couple of wickets at regular intervals.
“Prabhsimran played really well in the powerplay but unfortunately we lost a cluster of wickets after that. Now we know what to do, we have to win every game,” the all-rounder signed off.
