Ford had given a mild update to the Ford EcoSport that's currently on sale in India and recently, there have been several reports about a new EcoSport with a major facelift has been doing testing around the world. There have also been reports that it will be showcased during the 2016 Sao Paulo International Motor Show which will be held between November 8-20, 2016.
With so many reports doing the rounds, we have put together a list of things that are more than likely to make their way on the new EcoSport.
1. Restyled Front-end
Well, it is a facelift after all and that usually always includes a restyled front-edn design. But we are not talking about just the addition of Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) like the recently launched Signature Edition in India but the 2017 EcoSport is expected to get a new hexagonal grille, reprofiled headlamps, new bumper design and a much aggressive wheel design.
2. Restyled rear-end
If the front end is getting a restyle, then how can Ford leave out the rear-end of the car. It is expected to get newly designed tail-lamps.
3. Fresh Interiors
The major changes, though, are expected to be inside the car with a new steering wheel, a revised centre console and new Sync infotainment system.
4. Is there a new engine?
As of now, it will be highly speculative to talk about whether there will be a new engine offering or not. But we do expect better tuning and engine remapping for slightly better engine response and probably a better fuel economy.
As of now, the Ford EcoSport has been facing stiff competition from the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and yet, is holding its ground and bringing good sales number for the company. Ford has also received a positive response to the newly launched Endeavour. What remains to be seen is when does the American carmaker decide to bring the facelift EcoSport to India.
