Trending: Senior Management Consultant In India Reveals His 'Crazy' Salary
Students from institutes like the Indian School of Business can bag impressive job offers during campus recruitment.

Executive roles at consulting firms offer some of the most lucrative job offers in India. If one works at companies like McKinsey, Deloitte, Oliver Wyman and Boston Consulting Group as a consultant then their yearly salary can easily cross the Rs 1 crore mark. Recently, a senior management consultant with 8 to 9 years of experience revealed his salary in a vox pop interview and his answer has shocked many. In a conversation with a popular Instagram channel, an Indian consultant said, “In India, salaries for management consultants are very standard. So across the top three firms, a person like me, so I’m like a senior manager, can expect to make Rs 80 lakh to Rs 1.2 crore per annum.”

As per the interviewer, this amount converts into 130,000 to 200,000 Canadian dollars. However in PPI (Producer Price Index) terms, it amounts to 500,000 Canadian dollars. The individual, who was apparently vacationing in New York, added that one can add to their annual package with performance bonuses.

When asked if he is happy with his lucrative salary, the individual said that he is “obviously very happy” but more than that working at top firms motivates him to plan the next step in his life. He said that he is surrounded by those who are best at what they do which keeps him constantly motivated to progress in life.

When asked if Indian professionals need networking or special connections to get big jobs, the senior consultant said that graduating from prestigious educational institutes with an MBA opens the doors for many as big firms hire directly via campus placements. He revealed that he graduated from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad campus.

This interview is now raking in likes on Instagram. Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, “Management Consultants make a huge amount of money everywhere?” Another person wondered, “Honest question, are these salaries sustainable? I mean this guy is earning 80 lacs now. If he gets a modest 10% raise each year that’s a 14cr package in 10 years. Very few companies would pay that.” Someone observed, “Money isn’t everything. Living standard in every aspect of life.” An Instagram user remarked, “Definitely knew it would be ISB or top IIM.”

The Indian School of Business is one of the most prestigious colleges for MBA in India. Its exorbitant fee is often justified by the job package students get during campus placements. In May 2020, it became the 100th Triple Accredited business school in the world after it got accreditation from AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB.
