KOCHI: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Thursday directed Director General of Police (DGP) Jacob Punnoose to send a police team to Abu Dhabi and Dubai to collect statements from those Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs), who have been allegedly cheated by the owners of Apple A Day properties. The Chief Minister gave the direction after hearing the complaints from the NRKs through video conferencing at his chamber in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.Nearly 85 persons from Abu Dhabi and Dubai attended the video conferencing, which lasted for over 40 minutes. The Chief Minister said that the government would do all the needful to help the NRKs, who have invested money in various housing projects of Apple A Day properties and have been victimised.The Chief Minister told the NRKs that the the government would make arrangements for them to submit their statements before the court through video conferencing.The affected NRKs need not come to the state for submitting their statements. The Chief Minister also directed the DGP to meet the two representatives of the NRKs, who had come to the state to submit complaints against the owners of Apple A Day properties, who had allegedly siphoned off `150 crore from public in the name of 11 real estate projects.
