Imagine you’re strolling down the aisle to your designated spot on a flight, only to be met with an unexpected sight: no seat, just an empty space. Well, this peculiar scenario seems to be a recurring issue for IndiGo passengers, who are venting their displeasure about the airline’s subpar services. In a recent incident, an individual from Ahmedabad criticised IndiGo after discovering the absence of a cushion on his seat post-boarding, further exacerbating delays in an already tardy flight.
Sharing the ordeal on the micro-blogging site ‘X’, the user @Full_Meals posted an image from the flight revealing the vacant seat. Expressing frustration, the OP stated, “On an Indigo flight and the flight doesn’t have f***ing seats. We are waiting for them to bring in the bl**dy seats so we can sit. This for a flight that’s already 90 minutes delayed. F***ing hell.”
The post quickly gained traction, with users either lambasting the airline for its growing negligence or making light of these recurring incidents. One user commented, “Indigo used to be a reliable airline but now it’s just a greedy business trying to fleece it’s customers while offering pathetic service.” Another shared, “@IndiGo6E has been on a downhill slope wrt the punctuality and quality of services for months now. A couple of weeks ago, my indigo from hyd to blr scheduled at 18.10 got rescheduled at 17.45 but eventually took off at 22.30. After a while they stopped updates on delay.”
A third user raised a humourous question, “Sorry stupid question but where did the seats go? Do they rotate seats between flights? This is a whole new Kissa Kursi Ka.” The fourth added, “Another ‘strategy’ to get the passengers pay for the actual ‘seat’? Sorry! But it is too ridiculous & funny.”
IndiGo responded to the viral post, stating, “Hi, we deeply regret to note this. We request you to kindly share your PNR via DM so we may look into this further.”
This incident is not an isolated one. Sagarika Patnaik, a resident of Nagpur, faced a similar bizarre situation during a business trip when she discovered half of her seat missing. Sagarika’s husband, Subrat Pattnaik, shared a picture of the incident on social media, expressing frustration and stating, “#Indigo !! #Flight 6E 6798 !! Seat no 10A ! Pune to Nagpur!!! Today’s status…Best way to increase profit…Pathetic…”
