Love has no boundaries, and there are plenty of examples proving the same. From reel to real life, individuals have set an example for many who wish to marry a perfect life partner at any age. Walking along a similar vein, a 20-year-old young woman named Ellie Liptrot married Mark, who is 23 years older than her. Their love and compatibility broke the typical stereotype of marrying someone with a lesser age gap.
Starting from scratch, the couple met during a night out at the end of 2021, and since then they have started dating, and their relationship has only blossomed. They have been together for more than two years, and Ellie has also become a proud stepmother to Mark’s two kids, a 15-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy, reported the Daily Star News.
Despite the 20-odd-year age gap and the hate she receives for being the stepmom of two children, Ellie appears to be happy with her life.
According to the Daily Star News report, Ellie Liptrot is a popular TikTok star who often shares wholesome snaps of the children on social media and documents her lifestyle on social media, where she’s engrossed many users for being a stepparent. She keeps on sharing videos of her day, gym time, the couple’s dinner out, movie time, and others. In other clips, Ellies shares her vacation diaries and how her stepdaughter does her makeup.
Describing her experience as a step-mum, Ellie said, “The best thing ever. It’s the most rewarding thing ever. I wouldn’t change it for the world, some people just don’t agree because they’ve never experienced it,” reported the Daily Star News.
The media portal further reported that social media users chimed into the comment section to share their take.
An individual said, “I genuinely thought they were all his kids.”
“He looks like your grandad,” an account wrote
A social media user advised Ellie to rethink her decisions, saying, “You should be going to uni, making friends, building a career for yourself not raising 43-year-old’s children – this is so incredibly sad.”
But despite what the trolls have to say on the platform, the step-mum doesn’t seem to care about the negative remarks. In addition, there have also been plenty of users who voiced support for the younger stepmothers.
Backing the young woman’s decision, a user wrote, “Age is a number! It does not enquire how grown up you are! Are kids happy? Are parents happy? Perfect! Who else cares?”
Praising the woman’s decision to be a stepmom, an account remarked, “I adore women that decide to be a stepparent it’s such a strong decision and you are such a strong amazing woman for it.”
Finding the situation relatable, a user expressed, “I just wanted to say how nice it is to see someone in the same situation as me and show how positive it can be, I’m a step-mum at 20 and I have never seen an influencer that I can relate to.”
Hitting back at the critics, a woman commented, “I’m 21 and a stepmum of 3. It’s the hardest thing in the world but I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
