'Lived The Dream': Woman Bumps Into India's T20 World Cup-winning Team At Delhi Airport

After the Indian cricket team’s iconic win at the T20 World Cup, every enthusiast of the sport dreamed of meeting the champions. The victory procession that took place in Mumbai saw the attendance of over three lakh fans, who were there just to get a glimpse of the men in blue. But one cricket fan had a brilliant stroke of luck that put her right next to the cricketers. Content creator Sarah Hussain, who is known for her food-related videos, was at the Delhi airport when Team India landed. A video that she posted on Instagram showed her cheering for the cricketers as they made their way.

She also managed to get high-fives from some cricketers. When she saw Suryakumar Yadav she said, “Sir kya catch pakda aapne (Sir, what a catch you took)”, referring to his crucial catch that dismissed South Africa’s David Miller in the last over. Suryakumar Yadav humbly said thank you before joining his team. At the end, she could be seen waving goodbye to the bus that escorted the cricketers.

While sharing this video on Instagram, Sarah Hussain wrote, “What would you do if you’re at the airport at the same time and place as the Indian Cricket team? Whole another feeling to welcome back our champions.” This video got more than 2.4 million likes since it was shared on July 4.

Among the comments, a few people speculated that the meeting was not a happenstance but a planned event. Someone questioned how she could be ready in a Team India jersey when she was at the airport. To this Sarah Hussain stated, “Airport was distributing free T-shirts today.”

Another person questioned how she was allowed to be so close to the cricketers despite the tight security and the fact that only a few people other than the security staff were there. Making this point, an Instagram user said, “It is planned. See people standing in a line on one side to welcome them. Seems like she is also one among them.”
