Rupali Ganguly On Her 'Stressful' Days As A Homemaker: ‘My Husband Pampers Me’
Rupali Ganguly revealed that there was a period in her life when she was a full-time mother and a wife, focusing solely on their needs for 6.5 years.

Rupali Ganguly has maintained her popularity and remained a beloved figure ever since she starred in the iconic sitcom, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai as Monisha. Presently, she’s making waves with her performance in Anupamaa. Meanwhile, in a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, the talented actress spoke about gender equality and reflected on her past experiences, when she dedicated her whole time to her family, by being a homemaker. She revealed that there was a period in her life when she was a full-time mother and a wife, focusing solely on their needs for 6.5 years. Surprisingly, she considered that time to be more hectic and stressful than her current career in the entertainment industry.

She said, “My life was more hectic and it was more stressful or it was more mehnat, when I was just a homemaker for those 6 and a half years, so the 6 and a half years that I was at home, subah subah utho, sabke pehle uthne ke pehle utho, aisa kisi ne bola nahi hai, my husband really pampers me lekin woh inherently that is the way our bringing is, that is the way we have been conditioned, ki karna hai..”

“My husband does everything, today he’s the homemaker and I’m very proud of the fact that he’s the homemaker to how blessed am I. But uss waqt, I have to go to the market and pick up the fresh vegetables for my family. Even though you have help in the house and you’re blessed with good people who kind of I wouldn’t call them househelp, they are the major backbone but they are there and there’s so much to do. When I go to shoot I’m just makeup karo, baal banao, jaake acting karo which comes easy and naturally to me. I do get tired at times but it is something that you love and every morning, I get up, I feel blessed that I have work to go to,” she added.

She questioned the concept of empowerment and what it truly means. The actress expressed that while she is recognized as her character Anupama, she also has her own identity as Rupali.

Meanwhile, Rupali Ganguly further discussed that during her six-and-a-half-year break from work, she received several fantastic television offers. However, most of these offers required her to play the role of “hero ki maa.” She explained that these roles were mainly for characters with much younger heroes, who were in their twenties. Rupali decided not to accept these offers because she wanted to prioritize her role as a mother and enjoy motherhood during that period of her life.
