It’s wedding bells for the South Korean actress Cha Chung-hwa of the Crash Landing On You, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, and Mr Queen fame. The 43-year-old celebrity’s management agency IOK Company officially confirmed she’s getting married in an announcement shared on Wednesday, October 11. Notably, Cha Chung-hwa’s husband-to-be is a non-celebrity, hence the wedding ceremony will be a close-knit affair between family and friends. According to a report by AllKpop, it is suggested that the South Korean actress and her fiance have known each other for years. Over time, their relationship turned into romance.

Who is Cha Chung-hwa’s husband?

In the official statement, IOK Company only identified Cha Chung-hwa’s husband as a “younger businessman” hailing from Seoul. Keeping in mind his non-celebrity status, the agency did not reveal his name. Furthermore, they also refrained from sharing any other information to protect his identity. The private wedding is set to take place on October 27.

“Cha Chung Hwa is getting married to a younger businessman in Seoul on October 27. As the groom-to-be is a non-celebrity, we ask for your understanding that we cannot provide detailed information about him,” said the agency.

The wedding announcement comes at a time when Cha Chung-hwa’s upcoming film Brave Citizen is all set to hit the theatres in Korea. She will be seen essaying a supporting role in this action film starring Shin Hye-sun and Lee Joon-young in the lead. The plot of the movie revolves around the life of a former female boxing champion who takes up the role of a substitute high school teacher. She witnesses events with intolerable violence and when push comes to shove, she decides to take matters in her fists to seek justice.

Prior to this, Cha Chung-hwa played the role of a Kimchi-Jim restaurant owner in the K-drama See You in My 19th Life. While Shin Hye-sun and Ahn Bo-hyun played the lead roles, Cha Chung-hwa’s Kim Ae-kyung became an important piece to this fantasy love story based on the concept of reincarnation.

The Baeksang Arts Awards-nominated star became a household name in South Korea for her appearance in hit movies and K-dramas including Train To Busan, Why Her, and At A Distance Spring is Green, among others.
