New Delhi:A company that claims loyalty to gays and its current CEO is also a homosexual, what are the possibilities that its product could be designed to be a homophobic? Tech giant, Apple has been accused of programming the Russian version of its voice assistant, Siri, as homophobic.

The Russian Siri answered queries with the word 'gay' in it in a manner that suggested it was programmed to give responses against the idea of homosexuality.

A Russian-language speaker living in London asked Siri questions like , "Is gay marriage normal?," to which Siri's response was, "I believe this emotion should be considered negative," Gizmodo notes.

When asked, "Gay clubs around me," Siri responds, "I would have blushed if I could." Upon asking, "Siri, tell me about gay marriage," pat comes the reply, "Alex, you are rude!"

Although Apple has said that the responses by Siri were resultant of a bug that has been fixed, but it does raises question about the logic of the bug that only affected Siri in the language of a nation famously averse to homosexuality.
