The Tamil film industry has been producing some of the most engaging content in recent times. Recently, another such film has been in the limelight for its controversial content. The film is titled Hot Spot and is directed by Vignesh Karthik, who is known for making films about taboo topics. Recently, the trailer of the film was released, which has ignited a controversy regarded the topics that are covered in it. The film is all set to hit theatres on March 29.
The makers of Hot Spot released the trailer for the film recently. It starts with a disclaimer that Hot Spot is for an adult audience with mature understanding. The trailer then shows a voiceover saying that a court has ordered a 23-year-old to marry the 30-year-old he had molested.
The trailer is filled with controversial topics like the usage of cuss words, and controversial statements on masturbation, incest and sexual intercourse, to name a few. In the end, the video ends with statements like today’s right can be yesterday’s wrong and vice versa. After its release, it sparked a lot of controversy among the audience. The film features an ensemble cast including Kalaiyarasan, Gouri G Kishan, Adithya Bhaskar Sofia, Sandy, Ammu Abhirami and Janani, among others.
During an event after the release of the trailer, Vignesh Karthik remained silent regarding the controversial topics covered. He just talked about how this film was backed by his friends who worked as producers and believed in his vision. He added that the audience should not judge the book by its cover and wait for the film to release on March 29. One of the actors from the film, Kalaiyarasan, also talked about the controversies. He added that he is aware of all the backlash that the film is receiving, but he believes in the vision of Vignesh and is sure that all the doubts will be cleared once the film is released.
