As the Bharatiya Janata Party celebrates its third consecutive win in Haryana, defying challenges and differences, the seed for this thumping victory was sown somewhere in August 2023 when the then Assam state organising secretary of BJP, Phanindranath Sharma, was asked to take charge of the same post in Haryana and strengthen the roots of the party in the election-bound state.
With a tremendous track record of success in the 2014, 2016, 2019, and 2021 Lok Sabha and assembly elections of Assam and the 2024 Tripura assembly polls where he shared responsibilities, Phanindranath Sharma now has delivered on the BJP’s Mission 2024 for Haryana.
Dharmendra Pradhan, the BJP’s Haryana in-charge, along with Phanindranath Sharma proved to be a dynamic duo, driving the party’s campaign in the state which the Congress deemed to be in its kitty months before the polls.
Under the directions of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat in the last four months, the RSS held 16,000 meetings in Haryana’s 6,000 villages with door-to-door campaigning. A Matdata Jagrukta Abhiyan (Voter Awareness Drive) was carried out by RSS workers. The message of Hindu unity worked like magic.
Phanindranath Sharma was closely associated with this RSS-BJP campaign that culminated in a historic hat-trick.
