New Delhi: Perhaps Telangana is one place where Prime Minister Manmohan Singh can still get some votes for the Congress or at least has something to sell.
Manmohan Singh, who mostly stayed away from the ongoing Lok Sabha election campaigning will be addressing a public meeting at Bhongir in Telangana on Saturday. He is scheduled to address the public at 4 o'clock.
According to Telangana Congress leaders, since PM is the one who headed all important Telangana related meetings and defended the creation in the Parliament, he has been asked to address an election rally.
Manmohan Singh has so far addressed just two election meetings, one in Assam and the other in Punjab. Bhongir is a Lok Sabha seat in Nalgonda district.
The opposition is ridiculing the PM for not campaigning for his party. According to party sources, he wants Rahul Gandhi to lead the election campaign.
He has already made it clear that he will be retiring after May 16, the day of Lok Sabha results.
