New Delhi: The first half of the Budget session of the 2012-13 ends on Friday. The House will meet next on April 22. Important reform bills such as the Food Security Bill and the land bill still remain pending.
The Budget session of the Parliament was convened from February 21. The over seven-week Session which will have a month-long break from March 22 to April 22, will culminate on May 10.
The 2012-13 Budget Session of Parliament was stormy with Opposition strongly raising issues like corruption and inflation.
The Session has a heavy legislative agenda, including getting Parliament nod to around 71 bills to be passed in this Budget Session. Some of the important bills include Bill of Sexual Violence against women, Bill on Land Acquisition, Food Security Bill, Lokpal Bill and Bill to make provision for quota in promotions for SC, ST.
