India To Feature In 1st Ever Women's Test At Lord's In 2026
England women have played white-ball matches at Lord’s for the past three years, but it will be the first time the ground will host a women’s Test match.

The Indian women’s cricket team will face England in a first-ever women’s Test match at Lord’s in 2026. According to an official update by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Thursday (August 22), Women in Blue will face the English women team in five T20Is and three ODIs next year and will then travel to England again in 2026 for a one-off Test match at the Home of Cricket.

“India Women will return in 2026 for a one-off Test match at Lord’s—the first-ever Women’s Test to be staged at the Home of Cricket. England women have played white-ball matches at Lord’s for the past three years, with another scheduled next year, but it will be the first time the ground has hosted a women’s Test match,” the ECB release stated.

According to the official schedule released on Thursday for the next year’s white-ball tour of England, the five-match T20I series will start on June 28, 2025, in Nottingham, and the next four shortest format matches are scheduled to take place on July 1, 4, 9, and 12 in Bristol, London (Oval), Manchester, and Birmingham, respectively.

The T20I series will be followed by three ODIs, which are set to take place in Southampton, Lord’s, and Chester-le-Street on July 16, 19, and 22, respectively.

The Indian women’s team last travelled to England for a white-ball series in 2022 and suffered a 1-2 defeat in the three-match T20I series. However, in the ODI series, India managed to whitewash the English team.

India’s record in women’s Test against England

India has faced England in 15 women’s Tests so far and managed to win three of them. In the last red-ball match played between India and England at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai from December 14–16, 2023, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side defeated Heather Knight & Co. by 347 runs.
