New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a major protest in Delhi after reports that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has approved the acquisition of spying equipment. BJP activists protested outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence on Saturday morning against the decision.

But Delhi government denied that it was planning to buy spy ware. However, a leaked Delhi Cabinet note shows the government approving several crores for the purchase of equipment for the Anti-Corruption Branch.

The note allegedly was signed by Kejriwal and the Delhi Chief Secretary. The opposition has claimed that Kejriwal government is trying to misuse snooping devices to settle scores.

Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said, "AAP wants to break into people's privacy. Who gave them the right to tap phone calls?"
