"A total of 11 government hospitals in Delhi will be modernised. There will be provisions to keep digital record of patients," said Sisodia.

In the maiden Budget of the Aam Aadmi Party government for Delhi, the health sector is another beneficiary as the allocation is hiked by over 45% to Rs 4,787 crore.

"As many as 10,000 beds will be increased in hospitals and 1,000 new neighbour clinics will come up across Delhi. Of these, 500 will come up this year itself," Sisodia said.

After the national capital witnessed a major health crisis last week, the government is focussing on improving it.
