The Indian Cricket Team has been invincible in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. After defeating 8 teams in the tournament, it’s sitting right on the top of the points table with 16 points. The men in blue are yet to play their last league game, against The Netherlands, on Sunday in Bengaluru which would be a mere formality as the hosts are already qualified for the semis. In fact, they were the first team to storm into the knockouts.
In most likelihood, Team India shall face New Zealand in the first semi-final of the tournament on November 15 in Mumbai. While the Black Caps are currently placed 4th on the tally, Pakistan are also in the race with one game left, against England. Since the men in green are required to beat the defending champions by an insane margin to make it to the semis, New Zealand have the odds in their favour.

What if the first semi-final featuring India gets washed out
The semi-final and final have the provision of a reserve day on which an incomplete match shall be continued from the scheduled day. However, if the game still gets abandoned without yielding a result at the end of a reserve day, the team which finished in the higher position in the league stage will progress to the next round.
Extra-time Available
The knock-out matches also have the provision of 120 minutes of extra time for the completion of the match on the scheduled day as compared to the 60-minute rule for a normal group match.
Provision of Super Over
If a semi-final is tied, there will be a super-over to determine which team progresses to the final.
If the weather doesn’t allow the Super Over to be completed, the team finishing higher on the points table will proceed to the final.
Playing hours on Reserve Day
The playing hours on the Reserve Day shall be the same as on the scheduled day for a match (including the extra time provision of 120 minutes).
Each team must get to bat for a minimum of 20 overs for a result to be achieved.
Play on Reserve Day shall resume at the point where the last ball was played on the scheduled day.
