The highly-anticipated launch of the Mahindra Thar 5-Door is now just a few months away, with the off-roader poised to make its grand entrance into showrooms in 2024.
Recently, the prototype of the SUV was caught on the camera by an automotive enthusiast Shashank Adke, a MotorBeamer fame. Fresh details of the SUV have emerged on the internet.
Having said that, the extended version of the Mahindra Thar is set to sport the steering wheel borrowed from the impressive XUV700 model, rather than the one currently gracing the 3-door Thar. This upgrade promises to not only differentiate the two vehicles but also enhance the premium allure of the larger SUV.
Furthermore, a little larger infotainment system setup than the one found in the 3-door counterpart was discovered in the SUV. This development suggests that the Indian automaker is gearing up to introduce a more expansive touchscreen display equipped with the latest user interface and a plethora of new features.
It is also being anticipated that the SUV might get subtle changes to the dashboard layout along with a new front armrest, previously spotted on one of the test mules. Besides this, the new Thar might also feature a sunroof although not a panoramic.
Recent spy photos have further fueled the excitement, offering a sneak peek at a revamped front profile design. This glimpse hints at unique LED headlight styling and a brand-new grille design. Considering that the 5-door Thar will be a larger sibling of the 3-door version, Mahindra is likely to introduce a 360-degree parking camera.
Under the hood, it appears that the engine options for the upcoming Thar 5-Door will remain consistent. It will continue to be available with the robust 2.0-litre turbo petrol and the 2.2-litre diesel engine choices, offering both manual and automatic transmission variants. Mahindra Thar will be offered in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations.
