Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda, recently made his film debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. The film has garnered a good response from the audience. While the young star kid is yet to fully embark on his film career, he recently shared that acting was never his first career choice, and instead, he was keen on doing something else.
In an interview with Zoom TV, while discussing the film, the actor was asked if acting was his only career choice, considering neither his mom, Shweta Nanda, nor his sister, Navya, are actors. The young debutant then shared that he was initially keen on doing business and working with his father, Nikhil Nanda. “Acting wasn’t my first career choice; business was. I was planning on working with my father, but after months of internships and looking around for different job possibilities, I found my heart in acting,” he shared.
When asked about how he bagged The Archies, Agastya said, “I was approached to audition for the role of Archie in January 2021. After three rounds, I was locked into September 2021. I took my mother and father’s blessing and told them I would work very hard to make them proud.”
He even stated that working in The Archies gave a ‘new beginning’ to his life. “I think rather than using the word “change,” I would love to say it’s given a “new beginning” to my life because everything is different. I’m in a new city with new people doing something that I truly enjoy.”
Apart from Agastya, The Archies also marked the debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor.
The film is currently streaming on Netflix. It was released on December 7. The film is an Indian adaptation of the American comic book series centered in the fictional town of Riverdale. It brings the characters of Archie, Veronica, Betty, Reggie, Dilton, Jughead, and Big Ethel to life in a 1960s hill town.
