Actor Vijay Sethupathi is currently shooting for his film Viduthalai 2, which is a sequel to the 2022 blockbuster. Directed by Vetrimaaran, the film also stars Soori, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Manju Warrier and Prakash Raj.
Manju Warrier plays Vijay Sethupathi’s wife in the film. In a recent promo interview, the Maharaja actor revealed that the lovey-dovey parts between him and Manju Warrier are very well done in the sequel and the actor mentioned that the romantic track has been beautifully crafted by Vetrimaaran.
Vijay Sethupathi mentioned that he really liked the scenes shot between him and Manju and even asked him not to cut those scenes. Viduthalai 2 is currently in the final stages of shooting, which is expected to continue for two more weeks before the film goes into post-production. It is expected to hit the theatres by the end of the year.
Vijay Sethupathi was last seen in his 50th film Maharaja, directed by Nithilan Swaminathan. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi, Mamta Mohandas, Anurag Kashyap and Munishkanth. It received a lot of positive reviews and has grossed more than Rs 10 crore in two days and the film is expected to gross more than Rs 25 crore in the first week. The actor also has Gandhi Talks in the pipeline, which is awaiting its release.
Soori said that Viduthalai Part 2 will be bigger and more substantial as compared to the first film. As per reports, the audio rights of the film have been disclosed. It has been announced that Sony has secured the audio rights for the film for a sum of Rs 4 crore.
Viduthalai 2 marks Soori’s debut as a leading actor. In a recent interview on the sidelines of Garudan promotions, Soori said that he is expecting the second part sometime in August or September and added that the film’s shooting is ongoing.
