We all know Varun Dhawan is a huge fan of Govinda, and he has frequently expressed his admiration for the veteran actor. Varun even starred in a reboot of his father David Dhawan’s film Coolie No 1 in 2020, which originally featured Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. Now, Varun’s latest Instagram post honouring Govinda is another example of his admiration. He recently attended a screening of Govinda’s 1994 film Raja Babu, which was re-released in theaters.
Varun posted a series of videos on Instagram Stories, offering his fans a sneak peek of watching Raja Babu in a cinema hall. The first video features a scene from the film where Govinda is seen donning a navy uniform and a pair of sunglasses for a photoshoot. Alongside the video, Varun added the text, “Raja Babu.”
In the following story, Govinda is seen dancing to Pak Chik Pak Raja Babu alongside his co-star Shakti Kapoor. Varun tagged Govinda and captioned it, “Govinda back in cinemas.”
Varun also shared a dance sequence featuring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor from the song Mera Dil Na Todo. He tagged Karisma and added fireworks emojis.
Raja Babu has been re-released at PVR-INOX theaters as part of the Comedy Film Festival, which started on August 2 and will run until August 14. The theater chain recently revealed on Instagram that it will also showcase films such as Masti, Golmaal Returns and Partner.
Raja Babu, directed by David Dhawan, is an action-comedy film featuring memorable performances by Govinda, Karisma Kapoor and Shakti Kapoor. The film revolves around Raja Babu (played by Govinda) who strives to become a good son after he gets rejected by Madhubala, aka Madhu (played by Karisma), only to discover that he was adopted from a poor family.
On the professional front, Varun has a stunning lineup of projects. He will next appear in Kalees’ upcoming action film Baby John. It also features Wamiqa Gabbi, Pankaj Tripathi, and Salman Khan in pivotal roles. He will be also seen playing a cameo role in Amar Kaushik’s upcoming film Stree 2, which features Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles. He will also star in Sanki, Bhediya 2, Gregory 2, No Entry 2 and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
