April was declared the Mathematics Awareness month and on the last friday of the month, the biopic of India's genius mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan Iyengar is coming out in theaters.
The film directed by Matt Brown and stars Dev Patel as Ramanujan. Based on the 1991 book of the same name by Robert Kanigel, the film's story is about a mathematician who after growing up poor in Madras, India, earns admittance to Cambridge University during World War I, and he becomes a pioneer in mathematical theories with the guidance of his professor, G. H. Hardy (played by Jeremy Irons).
The film is about our very own super brain who devoted his life to the magic of numbers. He believed in his roots and religion and thus, earned respect for his beyond comprehensible talent. The film has garnered applause in the west for its appealing narrative. Will it be able to impress the people belonging to the land of magical mathematician?
