Thalapathy Vijay’s Wife Sangeetha Attends Aishwarya Shankar's Wedding Reception

Renowned filmmaker S Shankar’s eldest daughter, Aishwarya, recently tied the knot with assistant director Tarun Karthikeyan in an intimate wedding ceremony on Sunday. Their reception was held the following day in Chennai. Thalapathy Vijay’s wife, Sangeetha attended the event on behalf of the actor, who is currently busy filming in Russia. Recent rumours hinted at Thalapathy Vijay and Sangeetha living separately. These rumours are unfounded as Sangeetha attended Aishwarya Shankar’s wedding reception on his behalf. Pictures of Sangeetha at the event have circulated widely online, debunking the speculation.

For the reception, Sangeetha was seen wearing a blue silk saree. She was all smiles as she posed for the lens. Aishwarya was seen donning a lavender-colour saree for the occasion. She opted for subtle makeup and looked breathtaking. The reception ceremony took place in Chennai.

Many film stars including Vairamuthu, Madhan Karky, Vetrimaaran, Stunt Silva, Nelson, Anirudh, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Rakul Preet Singh, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Shruti Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Sivakarthikeyan, Jayam Ravi, Boney Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Atlee, AR Rahman, AR Ameen, Mohanlal and Ranveer Singh, attended the event and greeted the couple.

Aishwarya happens to be a doctor by profession. This marks her second marriage after her divorce from cricketer Damodaran Rohit. Damodaran was charged under the POCSO act after his name came up in a sexual harassment case filed by a 16-year-old girl, according to a News 18 report. Damodaran was the captain of the Pondicherry cricket team when he refused to take action against his team’s coach. The 16-year-old had accused the coach of sexual assault.

Tarun Karthikeyan is best known for projects including Little Marie, Chasing Cars, and The Last Years of Abel Bernette. He has an upcoming short film titled Chuck in the pipeline. Written and directed by Will Frontera, the film stars Simon Shih, Will Frontera, and Erica Lloyd in prominent roles.

Veteran director S Shankar has a few upcoming films lined up such as Indian 2 and the Ram Charan starrer Gamechanger. The filming of Indian 2 has ended, and it is anticipated to be released in theatres by June.
