Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal dated for seven years before marriage.
Sonakshi Sinha and her husband, Zaheer Iqbal, have been vacationing in New York for quite some time now. From enjoying a day out with family to taking adventurous rides together, the newly married couple’s getaway has it all. The duo took part in this year’s India Day Parade in New York and represented their country.
On Thursday, Sonakshi Sinha shared a carousel featuring a few happy pictures with her husband from the parade, which was also attended by Stree 2 actor Pankaj Tripathi. The couple twinned in white outfits for the parade. While the actress wore a sharara set featuring golden embroidery and paired it with a contrasting orange bandhani dupatta, Zaheer opted for a kurta pyjama layered with a multicolour-splashed jacket.
In one of the pictures, Sonakshi is seen addressing the crowd while her husband lovingly looks at her. Sharing the carousel, Sonakshi wrote, “Was such an honour representing our great nation and celebrating Unity in Diversity at the India Day Parade this year in New York! Fabulously organised by the @federationofindianassociations, thank you for having @iamzahero and me there.”
The Heeramandi actress has chronicled her recent escapade to New York with Zaheer on her social media account. On September 3, Sonakshi posted a video documenting the “craziest” ride of her life that “launched them 225 feet into the air.” Sharing the video, Sonakshi wrote, “The slingshot – CRAZIEST/MOST INSANE/OMG WHY AM I DOING THIS TO MYSELF ride I have ever been on… and only @iamzahero could’ve made me do it. 225 feet in the air at 90 miles per hour… uff The things we do for love…#SonaZahTravelTales.”
Sonakshi and Zaheer married in an intimate civil ceremony on June 23 at the actress’s home. Their wedding was followed by a starry reception at one of SoBo’s posh restaurants. The couple celebrated one month after their wedding in the Philippines while recovering. The actress shared a post highlighting their relaxing time in the country. Sonakshi wrote, “We celebrated one month of our wedding by doing what we needed to do the most – RECOVER!!! This is not an ad, and no one asked us to post, but I can’t help but share the awesomeness of @thefarmatsanbenito in the Philippines. In one week, we were taught what wellness actually means: listen to our bodies and take care of our minds. Waking up in the midst of nature, eating right, sleeping on time, detox treatments and massages galore – feeling brand new.”
On the work front, Sonakshi was last seen in the horror-comedy Kakuda. Prior to that, the actress was seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, where she played the dual roles of Rehana and Fareedan.
