Sobhita Dhulipala is giving everyone serious wedding goals after her engagement to Naga Chaitanya! The Made in Heaven star opened up on the details, revealing that her big day will be a traditional Telugu affair, staying true to her roots. She’s keeping it low-key though — no grand expectations or dreams, just a warm, simple vibe. The engagement itself was an intimate, relaxed ceremony, far from the usual Bollywood glitz. In her chat with Galatta India, she opened up about how special the engagement day felt.
Sobhita said, “I don’t think I went into the moment with a lot of expectations or dreams, planning…no. I think I was there. It was quite relaxed, simple, sweet, intimate and warm. It was everything I thought it would be. When beautiful things happen, I don’t feel the need for embellishments. That moment itself fills me. So I didn’t feel like it was simple or it was not; it was what it was meant to be, and it was perfect.”
She also shared her thoughts on an ideal marriage. The Night Manager and Ponniyin Selvan actress added, “I always wanted Telugu-ness to be a part of moments like this. I am very attached to my roots, to tradition and my parents. That’s something I fantasised about.”
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala got engaged on August 8, in a private ceremony at Chay’s home in Hyderabad.
The moment, captured beautifully in a series of photos, was testament to the couple’s happiness and love for each other. Naga Chaitanya’s father, Nagarjuna, shared the photos on X and wrote, “We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.!! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless! 8.8.8 – A beginning of infinite love.”
The engagement has caused a divide on social media between Chay’s fans and those of his ex-wife, Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
