Sharvari Wagh On Working With Sathyaraj AKA Baahubali's Katappa: 'It's Like Attending Acting Workshop'
From the very first day on set, Sharvari says she was in awe of Sathyaraj’s dedication and craft and learned a lot from the veteran actor.

Sharvari is one of the most promising young actors in Bollywood and in her upcoming release Munjya, from Dinesh Vijan’s blockbuster horror comedy universe, she has worked alongside actor Sathyaraj, best known for his iconic role as Katappa in Baahubali. For Sharvari, who is a huge fan of SS Rajamouli and Bahubaali, this has been a thrilling experience. From the very first day on set, Sharvari was in awe of Sathyaraj’s dedication and craft and learned a lot from this veteran actor.

Talking about the same, Sharvari shared, “I am a huge fan of all of Rajamouli sir’s work and of course his epic cult blockbuster Baahubali. I have seen both the films multiple times. So, when I first learnt that Sathyaraj sir is a part of Munjya, I was excited beyond words.”

Sharvari said that she learned a great deal from him by simply observing the actor deliver his scenes with panache. She added, “Watching Sathyaraj sir on-set was like attending an acting workshop every day. His versatility, patience, and sheer talent transcended everything. Whether it was a comic scene or an intense moment, Sathyaraj sir’s consistency and ease made every scene come alive.”

She said that the experience has not only enriched her acting skills but also deepened her appreciation for the art of cinema. She spoke of her desire to do more work with him. “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have shared the screen with such a phenomenal actor and I hope to have the opportunity to collaborate with him again.”

The actress also has fond memories of working on the 2021 debut which featured Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan. The film was a sequel to Yash Raj Films’ Bunty Aur Babli in 2005, originally starring Mukerji and Abhishek Bachchan. “That film opened so many doors for me. People in the industry didn’t know me before this. They didn’t know who Sharvari was. You cannot term anything as a failure if you’re getting work from that. I have been getting work from my first film. I will always be grateful to it, no matter what it did at the box office. I just want more work,” Sharvari told PTI in an interview.

Presented by Dinesh Vijan, Munjya has been directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. The film is being produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik and will release theatrically in cinemas on 7th June 2024!
