Samantha Ruth Prabhu has taken an indirect dig at Dr Cyriac Abby Philips aka The Liver Doc amid their ugly fight over the use of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation. Recently, the Kushi actress took to her Instagram stories and shared the qualifications and medical experience of her doctor, who recommended the use of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation. She also tagged her doctor and wrote, “My doctor is a rockstar”.
The fight between Samantha and The Liver Doc started after the actress took to her Instagram stories earlier this week and recommended the use of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation. Her post caught The Liver Doc’s attention who called her “health and science illiterate” and mentioned that the use of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation “is dangerous for health”. “Scientific society, The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, warning people to not nebulize and breathe in hydrogen peroxide because it is dangerous for health,” he wrote on X.
The doctor even demanded that Samantha should be jailed and added, “In a rational and scientifically progressive society, this woman will be charged with endangering public health and fined or put behind bars. She needs help or a better advisor in her team.”
On Friday, Samantha reacted to the doctor’s criticism and penned down a long statement on her Instagram handle. The actress, who recently underwent Myositis diagnosis, mentioned that she “merely suggested” the use of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation with “good intention” since it was suggested to her by a “highly qualified doctor”.
Samantha then questioned The Liver Doc and asked him to be polite. “It would have been kind and compassionate of him had he not being so proactive with his words. Especially the bit where he suggests I should be thrown in prison. Nevermind. I suppose it goes with the territory of being a celebrity. I posted as someone who needs medical treatment and not as a celebrity,” she wrote.
“It would have been nice had he politely invited my doctor, whom I have tagged in my post, rather than go after me. I would have loved to have learnt from the debate and discussion between two highly qualified professionals,” the actress added.
