Kantara Wins Best Film At National Awards 2024: Where To Watch Rishab Shetty Film Online

One of the blockbusters of Sandalwood, Kantara has received much-deserved recognition in the National Film Awards announced on Friday. Making it bigger with two new milestones, the film has bagged awards for Best Actor and Best Entertaining Film at the prestigious ceremony. Released in 2022, Kantara took everyone by surprise for its gripping storyline and strong connection to religious beliefs and folklore. The film, which was headlined by Rishab Shetty, also saw him donning the hat of the director. Further, his intense performance made him a deserving winner at the National Film Awards.

Kantara, with its folklore-based storytelling, explored a conflict between a human and nature. In the film, Shiva — played by Rishab Shetty — is the rebel working against nature. It was shot in Keradi in coastal Karnataka to keep it realistic and portray the cultures of Kambla and Bhootha Kola with authenticity. The film earned over Rs 450 crore at the box office, leaving behind many films that starred A-listers from across the industries.

Given the response to Kantara, Rishab Shetty announced Kantara 2, which will reportedly be a prequel to the original one. In 2023, the actor revealed that the Kantara, released in 2022, was actually the part 2 adding that the upcoming release will be titled ‘Kantara Chapter 1’. In a media interaction, he said, “We are very pleased and thankful to the audience who had shown immense love and support to Kantara and taking the journey ahead, with the blessing of almighty Daiva the film has successfully completed 100 days and I would like to take this opportunity to announce the prequel of Kantara. What you have seen is actually Part 2, Part 1 will come next year.”
