'I Was Bracing For Impact': Chrissy Teigen Shares Scary Flight Experience

Chrissy Teigen, the American model, TV personality and mother of four, recently had a nerve-racking experience. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Chrissy Teigen shared that she was “feeling grateful to be alive.” It all began with what the airlines call an erroneous take-off. The 38-year-old model and cookbook author shared the frightening incident with her followers. She also tried to reach out to her husband, John Legend, hoping that he would answer the phone. In one of the video clips she shared, Chrissy Teigen looked visibly scared.

As per Entertainment Tonight, Chrissy Teigen said, “We just had something called an erroneous take-off. We were going 1,000 miles an hour to take off, and then we came to a complete stop.”

“For like three seconds, I was bracing for impact, absolutely sure we were braking because we were going to hit something,” she added.

However, to ease the tense situation, Chrissy Teigen further shared, “I became very religious all of a sudden. I was like, ‘Praise the lord. Praise be.’ We’re going back to the gate. I’m so grateful for these pilots and the plane for doing what it was supposed to do.”

She also tagged her husband in the video, writing, “John Legend Please answer your phone. I’m on final destination.”

In another video, Chrissy Teigen can be seen laughing about her Instagram Stories before the incident. It showed her skimming through the menu and highlighted the beer cheese option. Teigen called it her “worst nightmare,” joking, “All my last photos on Daily Mail would be like, she had beer cheese. That was her last meal, beer cheese… My last words were nearly ‘MeeMaw’s beer cheese.'”

However, Teigen mentioned that the passengers’ mood on board was positive after the incident as they were celebrating that everything worked out. “We’re good. We’re OK,” she assured her fans.

“Maybe we did die, and now we’re in the ’60s somehow? What’s going on? An astro-jet? We died and now we’re in Mad Men times,” she joked about the incident.

According to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, an erroneous take-off happens when there is a mistake in the calculation and entry of take-off performance parameters, reports Entertainment Tonight.
