Huma Qureshi’s TV Show Madness Machayenge To Go Off Air Soon? What We Know
According to reports, Sony TV will be cancelling the show soon due to low ratings.

Actress Huma Qureshi, after projects like Monica O My Darling, Tarla and Maharani, came back to television with the comedy show Madness Machayenge: India Ko Hasayenge. The show was launched as a replacement for Kapil Sharma’s show, as it was moved to Netflix. If rumours are to be believed, the show will go off air soon. According to reports, Sony TV will be cancelling the show soon due to low ratings. The channel had planned the show as an interim solution with a limited number of episodes. They were planning a much bigger show to fill the gap, but the show is being cancelled even before the predetermined number of episodes could be completed. Currently, the channel is in talks with one of the most successful stand-up comedians to come with his show on the channel.

The show is currently in the midst of a controversy as producer and director Karan Johar has criticised an appearance on the show. Taking to Instagram, he shared his opinion on the show, which he felt was portrayed in poor taste. He wrote, “I was sitting in front of the TV with my mother … and saw a promo for a reality comedy show on a supposedly reputable channel … a comedian impersonating me in extremely bad taste … I expect this kind of thing from trolls and faceless and nameless people, but when your own industry cannot respect someone who has been in the business for over 25 years, it speaks volumes about the times we live in. This doesn’t even annoy me, it just makes me sad.”

The actor, Kettan Singh, who portrayed Karan Johar in the show has now apologised to the director. Kettan Singh shared in an interview, “I was also surprised as to what exactly he found offensive. Was it that I was impersonating him or was it a joke or something in the content that he found offensive? I have no idea about that. I only did that character because I have been doing it for a while and people like it. People, the creatives have appreciated it, that’s why I did it. It was never my intention to hurt him. I have always tried not to say anything that is below the belt, but agar unko kuch bhi bura laga hai toh (in case he felt bad) I apologise to him. My intention was to entertain and not to hurt. The medium of entertainment is slapstick comedy, so slapstick humour is mein kuch upar niche hua hoga shayad (something or the other went up or down).”
