Post the trailer launch of the remastered version of his 1993 thriller Manichithrathazhu, South superstar Mohanlal shared a picture that has sparked excitement among fans. The photo features the Lucifer actor along with Fahadh Faasil. In the snapshot, the stars are seen sharing a warm hug. Fahadh also plants a kiss on Mohanlal’s cheek. Mohanlal wore a beige printed shirt paired with white pants, while Fahadh picked a white shirt and blue jeans. Sharing the post on Instagram, Mohanlal wrote, “Eda Mone! Love you," referring to Faasil’s dialogue from the film Aavesham.
As soon as the picture was posted online, the comments section was flooded with fire and heart emojis. A user wrote, “So nice picture." Another commented, “Vasco and Rangan Chettan are friends." “Best Frame," wrote a fan.
Mohanlal made his acting debut with the 1980 romantic thriller Manjil Vrinija Pookkal, which was helmed by Fahadh Faasil’s father, Fazil. It also featured Shankar and Poornima Bhaagyaraj in lead roles.
Mohanlal and Fahadh had previously shared the screen space in the 2013 film Red Wine. They are also set to reunite in the highly anticipated anthology series Manorathangal, which is based on the works of acclaimed filmmaker MT Vasudevan. Presented by Kamal Haasan, it also stars Mammootty, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Harish Uthaman and Biju Menon.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal’s 1993 classic thriller Manichithrathazhu is gearing up for re-release, but in 4K. Directed by Fazil, the film will be screened on August 17.

Manichithrathazhu also features Suresh Gopi, Shobhna, Nedumudi Venu, Vinaya Prasad, Innocent and KB Ganesh Kumar. Apart from this, Mohanlal will also be seen in Prithviraj Sukumaran’s next directorial L2: Empuraan, and Tarun Moorthy’s L360.
Fahadh Faasil, on the other hand, will be next seen in Pushpa 2: The Rule alongside South star Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna. Directed by Sukumar, the film is all set to hit theatres on December 6.
Fahadh Faasil also has Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Vettaiyan in his kitty.
