Devara: Jr NTR Fans Go Gaga, Burst Crackers and Pour Milk on Tarak's Cutout On Film's Release Day

Jr NTR fans did not leave any stone unturned to ensure their favourite superstar and his film, Devara, get a grand welcome. Devara was released in theatres today, September 27. The film marks Jr NTR’s first solo release in six years and his first since RRR. Devara had a few early morning shows in the South, especially Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where the fans turned the film’s release into a celebration.

Several venues installed massive cutouts of Jr NTR. The cutouts were adorned with garlands, some covering the actor’s body. A video also revealed fans performing Paal Abhishekam (a ritual in which a deity is bathed with milk) before Devara’s first day first show. In another, a fan was seen bursting crackers. These videos capture the excitement for Devara.

Devara: Part 1 has opened to positive reviews from audiences. Several social media users who caught the first few shows praised Jr NTR, the action scenes and the cinematography.

Taking to X, film critic Courtney Howard wrote, “#Devara is an explosive, exhilarating & flat-out terrific adrenaline rush. It Goes Hard, bringing together giant-scale ferocity, pulse-quickening stakes & brawling action. Dance & fight choreography are propulsive. N.T. Rama Rao Jr. brings the fire & charisma. FUN STUFF!”

Besides Jr NTR, Devara also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. Both the Bollywood actors are making their Telugu film industry debut with the film. This also marks Jr NTR’s first solo release in six years. The film has already sold tickets worth Rs 80 crore.
