Marvel’s smash hit Deadpool & Wolverine is moving at an unprecedented rate, rocketing into the list of top-performing films. With several records already in hand, the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer has grabbed another one, surpassing DC’s Joker. Deadpool & Wolverine currently stands at a staggering global collection of over $500 million, which comes on the back of its highest-grossing Tuesday for an R-rated film. With a collection of $25.4 million, it has broken Joker’s highest Tuesday record domestically, states Deadline.
Earlier, the Joaquin Phoenix starrer had collected nearly $13.9 million, creating a record with its first Tuesday gross in October 2019.
Meanwhile, the Marvel film also holds the 6th best Tuesday in July, trailing behind flicks like Spider-Man: Far from Home ($39.2 million), The Amazing Spider-Man ($35 million), The Lion King (2019) ($30.3 million), Transformers ($27.8 million) and Barbie ($26 million). Before this, it also posted the highest Monday for an R-rated film with $24.4 million, reports Variety.

In less than a week of its release, the superhero sequel has also crossed the $500 million mark at the global box office, with ticket sales standing at more than $250 million in North America alone. So far, Deadpool & Wolverine is the fourth-biggest domestic release this year, standing behind Inside Out 2, Despicable Me 4 and Dune: Part 2. With this rate, the film can potentially lead the line to become the second R-rated film to hit $1 billion globally.
