Shedding those extra kilos during our weight loss journey is one of the most daunting tasks. While every person has their fitness journey, it requires a person to be both mentally and physically engaged during the process for the best results. Recently, another inspiring weight loss story came to the fore in which a woman named Ameya Bhagwat, went from 131 kg to 71 kg within just nine months. It means that Ameya lost a total of 60 kg during this period which shows determination for fitness.
Recently, in a conversation with India.com, Ameya revealed what inspired her to start the journey of weight loss and said, “I was fortunate enough to meet Him a few times when I was morbidly obese and in a very, very subtle manner, he mentioned I should get fitter, not obviously to look better, but for better health. I have considered him god and that just drove me to achieve what I have. He even tweeted about me from his official handle.”
Ameya’s regular diet includes plenty of fruits and vegetables. She also consumes eggs, chicken, soya chunks, paneer, and even vegan powders to ensure a significant intake of protein. In addition to that, she suggests the consumption of carbs and fats in a balanced manner. She, however, suggests the consumption of crabs only through naturally occurring sources like chapati, rice, oats, legumes, nuts, egg yellows, seeds, ghee, and milk products.
Ameya’s Tips For Weight Loss
- Cut down on sugar for the best results. One can consume 25 to 30 grams of sugar, jaggery, and honey throughout the day. Do not be scared of eating berries or fruits as they are packed with fructose which further comes with fibre.
- One rule that you must abide by for weight loss is to sleep well. It is required to sleep properly daily along with a balanced diet intake for better results.
- Devising your diet and workouts around factors like food choices, environment, availability, convenience, family and social life is the key to achieving success in this journey of weight loss.
- Carbs and fats do not harm your body. It is the refined, ultra-processed carbs that contribute to poor health and weight gain.
