Jaipur: Have you been fantasizing about a royal lifestyle? Have you been keeping a sharp lookout for a destination that allows you to enjoy those luxuries that people can only dream about? So what better way to really indulge than heading to Jaipur to have boisterous fun at the Fairmont? With a huge staff to take care of your needs and multiple opportunities to enjoy a lavish lifestyle, Fairmont Jaipur could be your ideal choice!

Fortunately, when I travelled Jaipur (which happened a few days back), the temperature was such that it made my trip the most enjoyable time spent outside Delhi.

Unlike others who love spending their holidays bundled up in winter clothing, I decided to go off the tourist track to explore a pristine, untouched and surreal destination.

As my car wheezed up somewhat looping mountain roads and into the beautiful Aravali hills, I geared up for what I had been waiting for: a unique experience at a property which has garnered popularity essentially via word of mouth in the last few years. The clouds looked gorgeous as they clung to the Aravali slopes, and Fairmont looked no less than a stunning monument that this gorgeous city boasts. And those who aren’t familiar with the hotel are in for a treat! For, much like the city, Fairmont is lush with food, architecture, and very interesting people.

Enormous wooden doors were thrown open for me. And as I arrived to the traditional red carpet Rajasthani welcome, flowers were showered, band musicians played the trumpet and over a 50-year-old Rajasthani singer crooned ‘Padharo Maare Des’. Just as I entered the grand reception, a woman clad in the hotel’s official outfit welcomed me by putting a raaj tilak to make the experience even more auspicious. And yes, before I checked in to my room, the staff offered me a glass of champagne (their welcome drink) under the soaring roof of the grand hall. As I said earlier, this was just the beginning to a very royal experience.

With its architectural beauty and interiors inspired by the Mughal dynasty and the erstwhile Royal Rajputs, Fairmont offers several unforgettable photographic opportunities for its guests. One look at the hotel and you’d feel it is so much like a fort with lavish surroundings and elite spaces.

Notable for its modern day luxurious comforts which complement Rajasthan’s old world elegance and rich heritage, Fairmont is spread over 3.5 acres and houses 199 guest rooms, sinfully luxurious suites with jaw-dropping interiors. From the timber doors to poster beds, camel bone inlaid furniture to private foyers, vaulted ceilings and bed linens – every bit is taken care of. Its flexible meeting rooms, a variety of onsite offerings also ensure your stay is as comfy and productive as possible.

The luxury hotel is also a reliable option for brides and grooms who want to plan an upscale wedding. “Our major portion of the revenue comes from weddings that are organised here. Fairmont serves as a perfect wedding destination for guests,” says Deepak Sharma, Assistant Director, Food & Beverage, Fairmont.

And since royalty is what you are looking for, you ought to luxuriate in its pool, suites and lobby. As soon as I completed the tour of the hotel, I was escorted by the official to the hotel’s all-dining restaurant Zoya. Within minutes I was taken on a culinary escapade by Manpreet Singh Malik, one of the most prominent chefs at the hotel. With several lip-smacking food items on display and an irresistible variety of desserts to relish, you won’t know where to start. From Indian to international, you can sample an array of options, but make sure you don’t miss their Rajasthani fare!

Next we visited the hotel's regal library bar Aza. With a seating capacity of 36, the bar boasts an interesting collection of books that include literature, history and mythology. And to ensure the guests have a memorable time, black and white classics of Charlie Chaplin are also played here.

While many might find the space as a small drawback at Cigar Diwan, Deepak tells that this dim lit space with a seating capacity for 11 is perfect for those interested in spending a quiet evening. "Since we don't want to clutter this space, we request the guests to use the space when it is free," he explains. Zarin, the hotel's Indo-Persian restaurant, as expected, is impressive both in terms of decor and the quality of food served.

As a luxury hotel, you are pretty much guaranteed that Fairmont will offer a memorable experience, but what you might not expect is warm and impressive the five-star service is. Whether it is the front desk or room service - all of it is done with great care and warmth.
