HYDERABAD: Blaming the state government and the Centre for the sufferings of farmers, YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy has directed his party district conveners to set up committees to enumerate the crop loss due to the prevailing drought conditions in many mandals.Talking to newsmen here on Friday, he said standing crops in 36 lakh acres in the state had withered away due to prolonged dry spell and non-supply of power for seven hours a day to the agriculture sector.He said the district conveners would submit reports on the crop loss to the state unit within a week.Based on the reports, the party would mount pressure on the government to provide adequate compensation to the farmers for the crop loss incurred by them, he said.
