New Delhi: Having introduced new reply to comments and hashtags features lately, Facebook has now added a new feature that allows users to reply to posts and comments with a picture. The new feature will let users add images in comments.
Facebook is rolling out this new feature globally to both its desktop and mobile websites, but Facebook has not yet made an official announcement about it.
Facebook product engineer Bob Baldwin showed off the new feature on his Facebook profile. "When I'm talking with a friend, sometimes showing a photo helps me tell a story much better than words alone. If we're hanging out in person, I can show a photo from my phone, but on Facebook I'd have to post a link to a photo. Now, you'll be able to attach a photo directly when posting a comment. I hope this will make threads with friends more expressive and engaging," said Baldwin.
Users, while inserting an image into a comment, can also add a message to it. It will support JPEG and PNG files; it means that the new feature will support only static images for now. Unlike Google+, it will not support animated GIF files.
